Meet the Cast & Crew
Kelly Levander has been directing and performing in theatre for over 20 years. Currently a working director/performer residing in Chicago, her work has been seen in New York, Texas, Virginia, Minnesota and a variety of other areas of the country. After a brief hiatus while having children, Kelly has spent the last couple years returning to her passion for storytelling and the amazing medium of live theater. Joseph Zaki is the playwright and founder of the Yellow Rose Theater. Joseph brought his imagination and passion for theater while working on this production and super excited to back on stage.
Tara Malpass Brabant
Tara Malpass (Stage Manager) is very happy to return to the booth for this production. She's had the privilege of working with many great Chicago theatre companies over the past 15 years including Raven Theatre, Stage Left Theatre, InFusion Theatre, Circle Theatre, Collaboraction, Trap Door Theatre, and Red Tape Theatre. Katherine Wettermann is ecstatic to be back on stage as theatre reopens. You may have seen her last plotting her husband’s “accidental” death in The Smell of the Kill at Towle Theatre or singing as a purple and green alien in The Wild Women of Planet Wongo at The Chopin Theatre. Gigi’s Party is incredibly relevant to the current state of the world, and shines light on the importance of taking care of ones mental health. Katherine would like to thank her family and friends in their continued support in her acting career. Now hop in your time machine to year 2058 and enjoy the show!
Thomas Tong (he/him/his) is thrilled to be back on stage once again to share art with everyone. Chicago theatre companies he has worked with include Pride Film and Plays, Strawdog, Cuckoo's Theatre Project, Death and Pretzels, BYOT, and more. He is represented by Gill Talent.
Stephanie Sullivan is thrilled to be working with Yellow Rose Theater for the first time, and thankful to the cast and crew for making this such a wonderful experience. Stephanie has been an actor since 1999 and graduated with a BA in Theater from Trinity University in 2001 as well as an MFA in Acting from DePaul University in 2006. She is a former company member at BoHo Theater, where she was seen in several of their productions over the course of 8 years. In 2018 she joined The Organic Theater and was last seen in their productions of Pantom Pain, The Revolutionists, Melancholy Play, and The Memo. Stephanie has also worked with Timeline Theatre, Fox Valley Rep, Theatre Bam, Prop Theatre, Stage Left Theatre, and Chicago Dramatists in collaboration with The Goodman, to name a few. When not on stage, she works as a Realtor, painter, graphic designer, and dog mom! Very special thanks go out to Anna, whose support means the world to her!
Joe Bushell is a homegrown Chicago actor. He has years of improv experience at Second City and the Annoyance Theatre and recently finished the ACADEMY program at Black Box Acting Studio, where he received intensive training in Meisner and Viewpoints. He is thrilled to be playing Andrew in Gigi's Party. Shortly before Gigi's Party, Joe acted in the short film The Worm and the virtual play Punkass Pastry. He will also be playing Elwood in an upcoming stage production of Harvey. When he’s not performing, Joe loves to hike, play the concertina, farm/garden, ride his bike, and play with dogs.
Madeline Diego, pronouns:she/her/hers (Fatima) Madeline is thrilled to be making her debut on the Chicago theatre scene in Gigi's Party! She originally hails from New York City where she attended Hunter College graduating with a BFA in theatre, and worked at the highly acclaimed Drama Book Shop. Her past work includes The Buckets and The Gravel recorded with TypeSet Theatre Company, and a 30 minute children's production of A Midsummer Night's Dream with Shakespeare On The Sound (Bottom/Demetrius). You can also catch her later this summer in a virtual devised piece, The Icon Project, with Chicago's Violet Surprise Theatre. Special thanks to Mom, Dad, her sister Emily, her brother-in-law Jesse, and all of her friends for being the supportive and lovely people they are!!
Sam is very excited to be back on stage! He is a recent graduate of The Academy at Black Box acting, where he studied Meisner and View Points. He has a diverse background in improv and song writing. His recent roles include independent short films and student projects for Columbia. He is currently studying Chekhov and will appear in a feature film later this year. Sam would like to thank his family and friends for their support!
Sophie Vitello is thrilled to be a part of theatre again! Previous roles include Geminae #1 in "A Funny Thing...Forum" and The Ghost of Christmas Past in "A Christmas Carol" at Metropolis Performing Arts Center, and Lady Caroline in "Dear Brutus" at Eclectic Full Contact Theatre. She would like to thank the cast and crew of "Gigi's Party," her friends and family, and anyone who has suffered with her through a zoom meeting/call/class in the past year.
